Mike tried to offer me the first moment of terror that I think might have had as his mother. Every mother loses their kid and gets scared, or watches someone fall and gets the chills up their back. However I think this is the worst.
I was woke up this morning by the phone. Rob is calling me and says "don't worry or freak out" (no let me say that is NEVER the way to start a conversation, especially if one party is sleeping). Rob them lets me know that Mike was hit by a car. The boys ride their bikes to school and have been ALL year long, so today Mike gets hit. The driver of the car saw one of the boys but never saw Mike. Mike was taken to the ER in a squad. Here's the kicker, I say okay I'm on my way.... and Rob says "I have the van". The van is the only vehicle that has a car seat in it. Rob's truck has only two seats, and NO CAR SEAT!!!!
The scariest things ever, give your kids an extra hug tonight for me! Love, Samantha
