Tonight was the night that we celebrated Michael's birthday. This one is monumental in my eyes. For one thing I can't believe that I am old enough to have a 16 year old. However, that being said I can't believe that through all of his mistakes through out his life he is still here and is a happy child.

I gave him a gift that I have been holding on to since the day he was born. I kept a necklace that Steven (his biological dad) gave to me when we first met. It wasn't something that I wore any longer, however it was something of his that was special. I also took Mike's favorite MLP Apple Jack and hung two charms that I embellished on to that necklace. My hope was that Mike would always be able to keep a piece of his birth father, me, and his daddy with him. All in one place. He and I had a great moment, and he proved to be the most amazing kid when it came to this. These are the moments that I feel bad for all the people who have come and gone in our lives and never had the ability to stay around to see what a beautiful man Mike is turning into.

Mike was also tickled because he was given his first cell phone. We agreed to get him the phone and help with minutes when we can, however a job is a must if he want's to keep it full time.
