Our Reading Adventure

This is Nickolas and Mom reading. We attended an interesting night of learning ways to engage your child in reading.

My favorite ways that were shown were to stop in the middle of the book and let the child guess what will happen in the end. The other way I thought would be real helpful was to ask questions as your reading the book. These questions are the 'what do you think?' 'how did that?' 'in your opinion what?'. Those are the things that I think cause a child to think for themselves, and really take the book beyond just the words.

I am glad that we attended and the school is beginning to have one ever month. I hope to attend all the future meetings. I think any lessons that can be learned to help us encourage our children to think for themselves, or even to think beyond the words is a great adventure
